Monja - What is the opening date for the Spice Island Inn. I read it somewhere but now I can't locate it. I'm hoping we'll be able to check it out while we're staying at Blue Horizons December 3 - 5.

Hi Pam,
I just came from the Spice Island Beach Resort where we were taking some photos for another member. From what we have seen, they will be open on time (Dec.15th). The major construction is finished, they doing the finishing touches.
Mr. Hopkin also published on Oct. 7, 2005 some news regarding the opening in Dec. (see below)
The US$12 million rebuilding project at Spice Island Beach Resort is continuing on a steady pace for the property’s re-opening on Dec. 15, 2005, and based on bookings already received, Spice is preparing for what is shaping up to be a very strong winter season. Spice Island Beach Resort has been closed since last autumn following damages sustained from Hurricane Ivan.
“We might have been closed for a year, but fortunately we’ve not escaped the minds of travel agents and consumers who are booking us with confidence for the winter 2005-2006 season,” said Sir Royston O. Hopkin, KCMG, owner and chairman of Spice Island Beach Resort.
“Once we re-open and introduce our chic, newly-restyled five-star product, we’re confident all our advance bookers will be astounded at the superior level of quality, amenities and impeccable service encompassing Spice,” he added.

Thanks Monja. Looks like it's going to be so nice. I'm disappointed we won't be able to use the facilities while we're at Blue Horizons but we'll go over and check it out anyway.
