I have stayed at The Grand View, and depending on which room you get, it is a nice place. I have heard VERY nice reviews of the Green Roof Inn. What exactly are you looking for in your choice of stay. Carriacou is already secluded, but do you really want to be in a secluded area, or do you want to be close to anything. Will you be renting a car, or walking to the beach, or cab or ???

Hallo Anse,
we want to do a lot of walking, go to the beach and relax, maybe rent a car for one day. The Green Roof Inn does not look as nice as the Round House or the Grand View, but i know that are only pictures.
Can you tell me some more about the Grand View? Is it possible to go to some restaurants near by?

Sandra,

The Grand View is probably a 10 minute walk from the Ferry dock. But the good part is that it is downhill. The bad part is that it is uphill the other way tongue.gif

They do have a restaurant and a bar in the lower portion of the hotel. They also have a swimming pool, but it was not in operation the last time we visited, but that was just for routine maintenance. Some of the rooms have A/C, some don't. The room we stayed in had a separate bedroom with bath that was air conditioned, then a main kitchen area and living room area that was quite large. We were on the very top "floor", looking out towards teh Ferry dock / Silver Beach area. It was a nice view, very clean place, and quiet.

As far as walking to restaurants, that would depend on what your definition of walking is. Like I said, you could probably reach a number of them with a 10 minute walk. I never mind the walk before the meal, but afterwards, ooof, too full wacko.gif

Let me see if I can find any pictures from the Grand View, I did not take many like I normally do.

I added these as hyperlinks, so this post will not load too slowly. Just one as a "teaser".

Sandra,
We were in Carriacou in late October-early November and stayed at the Grand View. The owners Shirley and Earl were very nice; as was the place. Food was good. The walk into town is about a mile downhill and five miles uphill to get back. Just kidding, not a bad walk at all.
Silver Beach is a bit closer in to town and has a decent lunch. Haven't eaten there. Nice beach.
Visited the Round House and was very impressed with it. Only down-side that I can see is that it's a bus or taxi ride to town (unless you really like to walk).
Stayed at Ade's a year ago and liked it a lot. The ladies wanted a pool this year, so I was outvoted.
Checked out Paradise Inn and it looks pretty good. Taxi or bus ride to town, though.
