... just a few of the many slides I've taken during trips to my parents' one time home. Enjoy!

Grenada - how I miss her!

How nice to have a place like that in Paradise!
How did you light up the white house on the 'The white house was home' pic?

Sorry for not replying earlier! (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

It truly was Paradise for myself and family. I've never had better holidays than the many I spent at the house! Any time I think of Grenada, my heart warms.

To highlight the house, I simply applied higher contrast to the entire image. You'll note the breakers are brighter, as well. The sun was most obliging in it's direction. (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I might add, if you don't own a recent Apple computer and it's amazing included software, you're missing the boat when it comes to managing and editing digital images and movies. (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

The Nutmeg was always a favourite stop for a few great "rocket fuelled" rum punches - made shopping seem to fly by. (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

While I don't recall any specific dishes that stood out at the Turtle Back, the view and the breeze made any seat a pleasure.

Betty Mascoll was a close friend of my family's and we spent many a luncheon or dinner being treated like royalty by her and her wonderful help. It hit me like a ton of bricks when I heard of her passing a few years back. This was a woman legends are made of, in my humble opinion.

Yes, the homes in the development were, indeed, of a high build quality. This fact alone was a major factor in my father's decision process regarding the purchase of the house; my father was a building contractor. The original Levera Beach Development Corp. was founded by a fellow from Scarborough, but I can't recall his name. My parent's home was one of the lesser luxurious properties; some of the homes were architecturally beautiful - by Canadian standards! Having visited so often, I was introduced to almost all the Levera locals; many of whom were Torontonians, oddly enough. Perhaps I should post a page with pictures of some of the families; might be recognized by some here.

While my plans to travel to Grenada aren't panning out as well as I'd hoped, what with having recently started a new business, I WILL return. It will be interesting to take photos from some of the same vantage points for comparison!

Have I mentioned how appreciative I am of this site? If not, many thanks! For an island that isn't as well known for it's tourism as some, I'm pleasantly surprised at the numbers here. It's good to know I'm not alone with my deep love for Grenada!!! (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Looks like an incredibly, wonderous spot to me! Thanks for the photos.

Jim: You must have a large stash of pictures somewhere -- just waiting to be scanned and shown to us all!!! Even if black & white or somewhat faded & grainy -- it doesn't matter. I'd love to see Grenada (& other parts of the Caribbean) through your eyes and at the time when you first fell in love with the place. So -- pour another rum & ginger and hit the scanner!!
