Hi,

After years of staying with relatives everytime I visit Grenada, I have decided to treat myself and my 12 yr old daughter to a 2-3 day stay at a hotel.

Can anyone recommend somwhere within easy walking distance or a short bus ride to St. Georges.

I am staying in Gouyave so I need somewhere which is accessable by car/bus as I don't want to be lugging a heavy rucksack around!

I am arriving on the 31 July (for 3 wks) but i'm not looking to book anywhere until 11 August or thereabout as i'm hoping most of the carnival holiday-makers would have made their way home by then!!

While i'm on(i'm on a roll now) does anyone know of any British Bars in Grenada? (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Anyone else from London going over for the carnival and staying in GOUYAVE! (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hi bones,

there are a couple of options available to you.
Closest to town is the Tropicana Inn. They are about a 5 minute bus ride from the center of town,or a short walk (if you prefer).
In the Grand Anse area there are several hotels open for business, and all have easy access to public transportation (check out the hotels page on grenadaexplorer.com). Of course, the commute would be a little longer (15minutes).
Hope this helps.

Hi Neil,

Thanks for that!

I've eaten at The Tropicana many times but have never considered staying there, I shall defenitely consider them though!!

Any Idea when the Calabash Hotel will be up and running?

Sorry, but have no idea about the Calabash.
However, there is the Monmot hotel a couple of yards away, as well as Lance Aux Epines Cottages (which is also on the beach).
