Yes, I'm still planning for 6/06... and this time was thinking of one couple that will NOT be joining us on the Yankee Clipper (don't like boats). They will have two full days without us before they fly home. I was wondering what they should absolutely do/see before they leave the islands?
Already planned: *Aquarium Beach day for snorkel with lunch at Aquarium *Dinner at True Blue *Probably a scuba/snorkel trip *Full day island tour One thought I had for them was to visit another island, as half of the fun is to see other islands. (If they would get on a ferry???) Is it possible to see another island as a day trip? If so, which island? What else should I suggest for them to do/see during their two full days of alone time before travel back to the west coast? Thanks (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) -------------------- |

There are so many things to do in grenada for two days, most of what I would come up with off the top of my head would involve boats.
1)I know that you will be doing an all island tour, but there are many other tours that they might be interested in. as seen in sunsation tours, ecodive and trek. Some might just want to realx on a beach for a day. 2)One thing that me and my wife used to do to get away (when we lived there) was to go to la source on a day pas. It was a great experience. La Source is an all inclusive resort. about $75 us got us in at 9 am. All you can eat breakfast buffet, drinks all day, beach, pool, lunch, water sports, beach sports, option for massage, yoga, aerobics, tennis golf, aroma therapy, and more, some with an additional price tag. But that was always a great day for me. 3)I believe you are staying at La Luna?, and if not it is still another place that is great just to realx. They have a very quiet secluded beach, with deck, pool, hammoks, lounge chairs, pool side bar and a restautant. I used to go there with friends for breakfast and spend the day quietly. Very nice. I was never bothered there by peddalers(sp). 4) I didn;t see if you were going to the market. You could have them go to town, St. George, for the day, or less. It is nice to walk around and go in to all the shops, and the market. I have always heard the weekend is the best, sat, but I find any day to be nice. There is also a museuem that I have spent 4 hours consecutively. I should not brag about this as the museem is not incredibly large. 5) I don't know when in june you will be there, but there is alwyas the Fisherman's Birthday Celebrations in Gouyave in the parish of St. John. boat races and late afternoon street festivals. I enjoyed that. 6) There is also the time honored Grenada Yacht Club. Yes there is not much todo there on a daily basis, but in late afternoon to evening haveing a few drinks there is one of my own little pleasures. 7) Finally, my favorite topic, FOOD. With three carefully selceted restaurants, your friends could get a wonderful grenadian experience traveling around, meeting the nicest people, and don't forget great food. I would be happy to offer some suggestions. And if travel is a problem some restaurants offer complementary cab service, and all of them would call a cab for you. I hope that some of this may be helpfull to you. As anyone will tell you there is so much more to do. That is why we all go back when ever and as many times as we can!! COngratulations on your wedding engaement! -mike |

Hi,
Mike is right, there are so many great things you can do while in Grenada. Plus don't forget hiking in the rain forest, scuba diving and maybe even kayaking. Some Tour Companies offer day tours to Tobago and Barbados, the best Day trip of course is the Grenadines Tour, but your friends need to go on a boat (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) -------------------- Mieka

Thanks Mike for the ideas. We are staying at Bel Air, so we will be hanging out at La Sagesse and of course Bel Air. I'd like to put together a little packet of ideas for the couple who will be staying on... I will gather more information for them about other tours they could possibly go on. They might like the La Source idea for a day - would be fun. I didn't have the market listed, but the ladies may do that together (shopping is always good). We will be there from 6/18, and board the Clipper on the 25th. The one couple will have a Monday and Tuesday to fill (26th & 27th). Most everyone is coming on the 22nd, more than likely the evening flight that gets people in around 7:40pm or so. So, for the people going on the WJ, there won't be much time! (Friday: beach day; Saturday: shopping, spa, snorkel/scuba & wedding; & Sunday: island tour - then get on ship) I have the same problem as you thinking of things without boats...
It sounds like the other islands are not possible for a day trip only? Patty -------------------- |

Oh, I think I answered my own question. I was looking at Mandoo's tour page, and they talk about a one day trip to Carriacou. Obviously, it can be done:)
