> Restaurants Reviews

Grenada's restaurants have a tantalizing uniqueness about them, and sometimes food or service or whatever changes from time to time there. We thought that we would encourage board members who have visited restaurants in Grenada recently to post their comments here, good or bad. The posts would assist all of us in making our choices when we get to Grenada. Thanks

I'm trying to make an information booklet for guests (next June) listing the top restaurants on Grenada. Who can help me?

Here is what I have so far:
Aquarium
LaSagesse
Boots Cuisine
True Blue Bay
Barking Barracuda
Canboulay
Red Crab
Sur La Mer
Coconut Beach

I must be missing some wonderful places - what are others that should not be missed!

You can scratch out "Canboulay" they closed down about 2 years ago.
Barking Barracuda, I am not so sure, they have mostly snacks and is more a bar & nightclub. They also moved out from St.David's Marina and are now only in Lance Aux Epines.

Another nice restaurant is Beach House and the one in Calabash!.

Big Fish in True Blue is also very nice for light dinners and a nice place to hang out.

Barking Baracuda is out where Castaways used to be. It has no ambience and is geared toward the night club thing.

La Belle Creole is very nice.

And we enjoy stopping at the Tropicana for lunch.

Aquarium is by fay the best!

Yes, I forgot about the Nutmeg! And, thanks for the others as well. So, is Barking Barracuda (that was by Bel Air) not open anymore?

Hi,
don't forget Bananas for dinner (True Blue area). Not a waterfront setting, but quite tropical and excellent food plus a good mixture of locals/students/tourists.
We loved it!

If they survived Emily Almost Paradise up on the north end of the Island always had good food and the view is to die for. Paradise at La Tante looks fab. They email me their special menus on a regular basis and the food looks good and reasonably priced. I agree with Monja on the Big Fish at True Blue. Consistantly good food. Richard,
concerning Almost Paradise, they will not make the list just yet. They have lost the roof over the restaurant plus a roof of one of the apartment buildings during Emily. I highly doubt that they are open again so soon.

Maybe you missed it, but there is also a Sushi bar at the Marquis Complex...quite popular with some of the locals.
As for Paradise Bay...hmmmmm! They don't have a lot of visitors to that restaurant, so there is no guarantee....just a thought.
For snacks, Le Chateaux at the Marquis is also worth stopping by.

(IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I'm so glad you mentioned "Big Fish". Do you know the phone number of the restaurant? I can't find it listed anywhere. Is "Big Fish" operated by Bradley?
How can I reach him?
Thanks so much for any info, M.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope they can get back up and running in time for the high season. I heard from a friend of ours that was staying at our place in St Andrews during Emily that the Barking Barracuda is still open at the Marina but the menu has gone back to snacks and burgers etc. The same staff are there. Its probably a bit quiet at this time in the marina. Be interesting to see what happens nearer Christmas. We had a fab Christmas meal and New Year there last year.
Kind regards
Richard

The Barking Barracuda Retaurant is moved from st david's to Lance Aux Epines
close to martin's Marina and Prickly Bay, not at Martin's marina.
we still have the same restaurant menu as in st david's only Bigger with more specials and also an extra Indian Menu from the Special menu.
Also we have a bigger snack menu , the kichen is open 7 day's a week from 5pm till 10.30pm
