Hello everyone, we are arriving on Grenada, Friday, December 19. Spending the first week on the Peter Hughes diving boat, and second week (Dec. 27 to Jan.4) at the Coyaba. Wondering if anyone would have suggestions for a New Year's Eve celebration. We are 45 & 50, and looking for a nice dinner followed by something to ring in the New Year. Some ambiance would be great, we don't want a nightclub atmosphere, but I don't want to fall asleep either. Is there something right at Coyaba, or should we go somewhere else? Thank you in advance.

Also, for restaurants during the week, I had thought about trying the following:

- Aquarium - Rhodes
- Beach House
- Boots cuisine
- La Sagesse

Anything else we should try?

Also, can you still have lobster at Aquarium every day, or do you have to go there for their Sunday BBQ to have it?

France from Calgary, Alberta...Snow storm here right now (15 to 20 cm forecasted, tomorrow's HIGH: -30 degrees Celcius, BRRRR!... Can't wait to be in warm Grenada!!

The biggest hotel party every year is at the Rex Grenadian - well liked by visitors & locals.

Tickets are normally sold for about EC150 EC per person which includes dinner & dance - if you prefer just dance around EC$60

There will be also lots of private parties taking place (Dr.Grooms Beach) which are open to the public - just need to buy some tickets.

Plus the usual nightclubs like Fantazia 2000 & Bananas & Karma will have huge parties.

The best option would be to buy the local newspaper before New Years Eve, since most establishments will put a huge ad on what they offer & how much the tickets will cost. You can also check out http://www.partygrenada.com

hi i just logged on to ask about the Rex party and you answered by question! Does anyone know what the best time is to go to the Rex post the dinners. I am planning to go to just the 'dance' part.

Also, I believe Bananas is not doing anything on NYE.

Cazrock, I would say the best time is about 10-11.00PM for the party , Grenadians love to start late for parties (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Just got a flyer for the True Blue Old Years Night Celebration.

Thanks for the TB flyer info. Sounds good. Is there anything FREE going on? Does the GOV here not put anything on? I have not heard anything like that..

Also does anyone know what The Boatyard in Lance Epines will be doing that night, Old Years Night?

I am not being stingy but I do think $100 EC - $60 EC is a lot to get into a venue then buy drinks/food on top. Its like London!

Unfortunately most bars & hotels charge for Old Year Night. I did not hear anything from the Boat yard yet but received some flyers & emails regarding parties:

Old years party at the Lazy Lagoon from 10pm onwards.
$60 entry.
Free drinks and some snacks.
Free bubbly at the hour.
See other peoples fireworks at midnight.
All drinks included, except really top shelf.
No vagrants, nice people ONLY!
See you Wednesday...
