Lorraine,
I know of the area this is located in, but have not seen it myself. How many people or bedrooms do you need. I know of one other suggestion that is not listed on the board that I learned about recently. Tell me what requirements you have as far as bedrooms etc.., and I will get some info for you also. Monja will know about this facility, and she will post here when she see's this. -------------------- |

Thanks Anse, Im sorry, I should have given a little background info.
We are looking for accomodation for 6 of us, Me my husband and 4 children. I did look into booking two rooms at the Rex but we are still looking at our options so if you have any other info that would be great.I would say we need to be fairly close to The Aquarium Restaurant. We first came to Grenada in 1990 and got married on the Calabash beach when our daughter was 8 weeks old. We were also thinking of renewing our wedding vows, any ideas on how I might arrange that from here. (I think my children just want us all to dress up and have a party) Thanks Again (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |

Hi lorraine,
I know these aren't that close to the Aquarium Restaurant but other than that I think they fit your needs. Wave Crest has 2 bedroom apartments. Talk with Ian Dabreo (Dabs) for a good price. http://grenadawavecrest.com/ Also a good choice with split level 2 bedroom apartments is Palm Court. Very near the Marquis Complex and Grand Anse. http://www.grenadaguide.com/palmcourt/ Call and speak with the manager for a good rate. I toured them both 2 weeks ago and found them quite acceptable and the closeness to the beach and Grand Anse area will save many taxi fares which can be used to go to the Aquarium. |

Lorraine
I will still have info for you on the place to stay, I spoke briefly with the owners daughter yesterday, but did not get the pricing & info, sorry, I forgot to call back last night. As for renewing your vows, depending on religious preferences is what I would suggest to you. I too was married in Grenada. I chose Grand Anse Beach at sunset. We used the Chief Magistrate, Patricia Mark to perform the ceremony. I can help you out with phone numbers, or point you in other directions based upon preferences. I also have the name of a very nice florist, if you desire a small bouquet. (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) May I ask why you need to be close to the Aquarium Restaurant ? Knowing that will help to choose accomodations that are best suited for your purpose. -------------------- |

Thank you Sandcrab for the information regarding other places to stay, I never thought of going direct to the owners.
Anse, We dont really need to be that close to The Aquarium if it came down it it but it might help, I think we will hire a car, if I can find one that seats 6 . Becca (and Uli) who own and run the restaurant is my sister-in-law. I wanted to arrange flights and somewhere to stay from my end. The wedding renewal would be at the beach/restaurant and then in the evening an open party...fancy a great night out in november? The contact numbers you mentioned would be great nearer the time. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to me.Sorry to waffle on. (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Hi Lorraine,
just one little question, did you ask Rebecca if she can assist you with an apartment/ accommodation? As far as I know they have a little house (close to the Aquarium), which they (I think) rent out to friends. About renewing your vows - i don't think this will be a problem at all. Since you would not need any papers/documents. Just contact one of the magistrate/priest and ask them if they would be so nice and renew your vows. Aquarium is the perfect place for a beautiful wedding, and Rebecca is so talented that I am 100 % sure she will put every afford in to decorate the place like a dream. Hi Monja,
Yes You are right, they do have a little house that they rent out, but the last time I spoke to Bec they were renting the house out to medical students and the only times it would be free we could not make. Becca has said not to worry about a thing, she would arrange everything, but she has so much to do I dont feel thats fair. Becca has been waiting a long time for us to get to Grenada. Becca has our whole holiday planned...We (Becca and I) party for the whole 3 weeks and leave the men to look after the children!! (IMG:http://grenadatravelforum.com/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Bye for now Lorraine |

So how far is Wave Crest from Grand Anse Beach? It is best to give distance in time it takes to walk instead of yards or meters.

As you know Vikki, we tend to walk slower in Grenada, therefore, I would say about 12 minutes. From Palm Court about 10 minutes.

My family will be moving to St. George while my husband attends the medical school and I was wondering if you knew of any other houses for rent close the the university. What about schools and avctivities for my 3 children ages 10, 9, &6. (all girls who LOVE cheerleading!) Are most of the homes for lease furnished? Is it safe for my children? We are visiting in July and not sure where to start looking! We won't be long term until January. What would a 3-4 BR house rent for? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!1!!! Missy
